
1) Purpose and characteristics
The International Thematic Grant aims to foster the association of outstanding researchers in their research areas, who have been living abroad, without employment for less than 12 months, Brazilians or foreigners, to qualified higher education and research institutions in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
The research project that will be developed during the term of the International Thematic Grant follows the guidance of the Thematic Projects. These are distinctive due to the nature, boldness, and scope of proposed research activities, and in the experience required from the Principal Investigator in the field of the project. The project must involve a team of several investigators, often from different departments or institutions, to obtain scientific or technological results that greatly push the boundaries of knowledge.
Only researchers living abroad who have been unemployed for less than 12 months at the time of the proposal’s contracting will be eligible for this Call.
Support is provided in the form of a Grant, and Principal Investigators who are not yet formal employees of research Institutions may be awarded a InTheGra Fellowship for a period of up to 24 months, under the conditions described below.
The funding offered by FAPESP is regulated by the rules described below and, in case of omission, by the rules of Thematic Project Grant, available at fapesp.br/en/thematic.
For this Call, a maximum of 20 projects will be selected.
